Set up a spending account
A spending account lets the robot pay for things itself, up to a daily limit. Read Spending limits for how it works.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You’re connected as the robot’s owner.
- Your wallet has a little ETH on Robinhood Chain and a little PEAQ on peaq for fees.
- You have the robot’s private key saved, the one from registration. The robot will need it to pay.
- Open the robot’s page and find the Spending panel.
- Enter a daily limit in USDG.
- Click Set up spending account and confirm twice:
- On Robinhood Chain: creates the spending account.
- On peaq: points the robot’s identity at the new account.
If the second step is interrupted, a Finish setup button appears. It picks up from where it stopped without creating a second account.
What changes
Section titled “What changes”- The robot’s pay link now sends money to the spending account.
- The robot’s old address becomes its key address. It signs payments and pays the fees.
- Money already in the old address stays there. Move it yourself if you want it in the spending account: send it to the new wallet address shown on the robot’s page.
After setup
Section titled “After setup”- Fund it. Pay the robot through its pay link, or send USDG to the spending account.
- Give the key some gas. Send a little ETH on Robinhood Chain to the robot’s key address shown in the Spending panel.
- Set up the robot. Install the mova-robot tool with the robot’s key.
Managing it
Section titled “Managing it”From the Spending panel, the owner can:
- Change the daily limit.
- Withdraw USDG to your own wallet.
- Pause and resume spending.
Each is one confirmation on Robinhood Chain.
