Identity on peaq

A robot’s identity is a record on peaq. It is created when you register the robot and it belongs to the wallet that registered it.

  • An ID. A long number derived from the robot’s type and serial number. The same type and serial always give the same ID, so a robot can’t be registered twice.
  • A peaqID. The ID written as did:peaq:<id>. This is the form other systems use to look the robot up.
  • An NFT. The identity is a token in peaq’s Machine Registry. Whoever holds the token owns the robot’s identity.

Mova writes the robot’s wallet into the identity as service endpoints:

Endpoint Type Value
#mova-wallet MovaWallet The wallet that receives payments, as eip155:4663:<address>
#mova-robot-key MovaRobotKey The address of the key the robot signs with. Present once a spending account is set up.

Because this is on peaq, anyone can check which wallet belongs to a robot without asking Mova.

Each identity has a yearly plan, paid as a bond in PEAQ.

  • The plan runs for 365 days.
  • After that there is a 14-day grace period in which you can still renew.
  • Then a 14-day runoff, during which the bond decays.
  • After runoff the identity is terminated.

The robot’s page shows the plan, the bonded amount and the date to renew by.

Only the owner. The owner can update the wallet endpoints (Mova does this when you set up a spending account) and transfer the identity to another wallet.
